WHO ARE WE:- YIDEN is a broad movement comprising of individual youth, young political leaders, Non-Governmental organization, Labor organization, Faith based groups and other non-state actors. YIDEN was established as the vehicle and movement in the quest for unity amongst youth in Machakos County and now enfolding the entire Southern eastern region with the objectives of transforming the region into a democratic, just and prosperous place .

The movement calls for both National and Regional discussion, negotiation, developments, positive politics and actions in order to address the objectives and issues that affects the youth to foster cohesion, unity and development. The movement at the moment is in southern Eastern region of Kenya.

The movement works locally and nationally with organizations and forums that promote the emancipation of the youth in Kenya. YIDEN has been holding workshops and seminars to ensure that the young people fully participate in all inclusive participatory as democratic processes for building the nation.





Our Vision: To create a mass of empowered influential young people who can participate actively in development and policy making in Kenya.





Our Mission: To create opportunities and building a legacy of influence and affluence amongst youth and improve efficiency through capacity development, offering a platform for opinion shaping, economic improvement and socio- political development.





Our objectives:

  • Ensure structures are established and developed for effective implementation of its objectives, policies and other related youth Agendas.
  • Create an environment, which enables the youth to understand and assume their roles and responsibilities.
  • Policy, lobbying and advocacy.
  • To create a platform for leadership and Governance for progressive development amongst the youth.
  • Formation of branches after approval according to the constitution.




Functions of the Group: The networks have been among other function:-

  • Mobilizing, sensitizing and organizing the youth to engage in economic, political and socio-cultural endeavors.
  • Liaising with youth development partners, youth groups, civil societies and organizations to ensure the youth gains access to resources, services and programs.
  • Mobilize resources to support and find the Network programs and youth initiative.
  • Gainfully involves the youth in activities that are beneficial to them and the nation at large
  • Provide linkages and with/within its various organs.
  • Promote research and education on youth issues



  • Facilitates strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of youth programs in the south Eastern Region.
  • Act as a bridge and advisor to the government and other policy makers of the views and aspiration of the youth and community.
  • Mobilize and sensitize other relevant stakeholders on the concept of community youth service.
  • Aspire and promote the spirit of unity, patriotism, volunteerism and youth service among the youth and community.
  • Support and protect existing initiatives by youth serving organizations/groups.
  • Encourage participation of all stakeholders and promote their working towards synergy. It should promote dialogue-among the organizations and with government.
  • Develop and design the enterprise Development sector, social improvement initiative sector and the political empowerment wing under the slogan of 'Working together, growing together'
